Ferrari FXX-K Evo
Ferrari FXX-K Evo
Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has revealed the FXX-K
Evo. The Ferrari FXX-K Evo is, in essence, an evolution of Ferrari's track-only
version of the LaFerrari hybrid hypercar — the FXX-K.
. Compared to the road-going LaFerrari, the increase in downforce
is a mind-boggling 75 percent. At 200kph, the FXX-K Evo produces 640 kilos of
downforce, which is similar to the amount produced by GT3 racing cars.
The increase in downforce comes in the form of an
extensively revised exterior. These changes include a revised front end with
the section under the headlights hollowed out to form additional intakes and
flics ahead of the front wheels. The changes allow for a 10 percent increase in
downforce.
The rear end now features a fixed rear wing which is
supported by two large side fins along with one down the centre with the latter
featuring vortex generators, which cleans out the air flowing over the rear end
of the FXX-K Evo. The fixed rear wing works in concert with the active rear
spoiler to help maximise downforce.
Ferrari has also tweaked the interior of the FXX-K with the
new car getting a larger steering wheel and a 6.5-inch display which features a
new telemetry system that also shows the status of the KERS system. The FXX-K
Evo will be offered as an upgrade pack for FXX K owners but Ferrari will make a
limited run available to buyers as well.
