Greenfield International Stadium
Greenfield International Stadium (also known as Greenfield
Stadium), part of The Sports Hub Trivandrum, is a multi-purpose stadium in
Kerala, used mainly for association football and cricket. The stadium is
located at Kariavattom in Thiruvananthapuram city, Kerala, India. It is India's
first DBOT (design, build, operate and transfer) model outdoor stadium. The
Greenfield Stadium is set to become India's 50th international cricket venue on
7 November 2017 when it will host their final T20I against New Zealand
The ground is designed such that it can be used for
international games of cricket and football. The playing arena in the stadium
has been constructed in line with FIFA regulations and International Cricket
Council norms.
It has facilities for indoor sports like table tennis,
basketball, badminton etc., a gymnasium and spa, a club house with five star
facilities, tennis court, Olympic size swimming pool, open convention cum trade
cum exhibition centre, retail outlets, food courts, club facilities, car
parking, etc. It has a seating capacity for 55,000 spectators.
This multi-functional stadium is capable of hosting
international cricket and football matches as well as cultural and
entertainment events. Open Parking for 2000 cars is also available. A new road
has been constructed from Kariavattom National Highway to the stadium.
