Mercedes-Benz has announced that the AMG CLA 45 and GLA 45
will be launched in India on November 6, 2017. With the introduction of two new
models, the total number of AMG models launched in 2017 alone has gone up to
seven.
The AMG CLA 45 and GLA 45 are the entry-level models from
the company's performance wing. Both the models draw power from the existing
2-litre in-line four-cylinder, turbocharged engine producing 375bhp and 475Nm
of torque. The engine is coupled to an AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed sports
gearbox.
On the design front, the new AMG CLA 45 and AMG GLA 45
features subtle changes to the exterior design. The cars feature a new glossy
black paint scheme with yellow detailing. A matte black racing stripe runs
through the bonnet, roof and boot. The new models also sport AMG styling kit
which includes black grille, AMG badging on the slat and an aggressively
designed bumper.
The side profile of the AMG CLA 45 and GLA 45 features AMG
graphics above the side skirts and yellow detailing on the front bumper, ORVMs,
tyre wall and rear bumper. The GLA 45 comes with a rear spoiler with yellow
accent. Both the cars are equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels. Other prominent
features of the new AMG models include projector headlamps, LED daytime running
lights, quad exhaust, rear diffuser and LED tail lights.
The interior of the AMG CLA 45 and GLA 45 features an
infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. The
dashboard gets an all-black theme with red stitches on the side panels and
leather seats. The steering wheel is also wrapped in the black leather with red
detailing.
