Ola may introduce Pass for Mini, Micro and Prime rides to take on Uber Pass

much like the Share Pass which was introduced earlier this year, Ola is now gearing up to bring the subscription-based Pass feature to Micro, Mini, and Prime rides as well. Reports are that this feature is currently in testing stage and Ola will make it official in the days to come. The upcoming Ola Pass will compete with Uber's new Ride Pass (yet to be official) and offer flat fares for select Ola Micro, Mini, or Prime rides.
What it means is, using Ola Pass -- Micro, Mini, or Prime riders will have to pay one fixed price to cover a certain distance -- be it whatever time of the day they travel -- there will be no peak price charged. For instance, Delhi users using Ola Pass will have to pay a fixed price of Rs 105 for 10km in Micro, while Prime riders to cover 10km will have to pay a fixed price of Rs 140. As mentioned, some Ola users have already started receiving the feature and can use the feature. While, other users may have to wait for some more time.
However regular (or peak) pricing will be applicable if the selected destination is more than the chosen Ola Pass package. For instance, if you choose the 10km pass and your destination is 12km away, the pass benefits will not apply on the ride -- and you'll be charged as per the actual Ola prices - and if need be, peak prices will also be applied to the same.
The Ola Pass subscription is currently available to select users in the Delhi-NCR region. However, the Pass description shows that the Ola Pass will be available in just a few cities in the country including -- Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Mumbai.
To subscribe to a Ola Pass, you can choose from 5 to 20 rides in a month, depending on your requirement. As per reports, Delhi users using Ola Pass will have options for 10km, 15km, and 20km distance barriers, while Mumbai users will be abale to get the Ola Pass for rides of 7km, 12km, and 20km. For Bengaluru, options include 5km, 10km, and 16km. The prices were checked by Gadgets 360, and the feature was first spotted by them.
The Ola Pass feature is very different from Ola Share Pass. The Share Pass provides flat fares only for Share rides. While the upcoming Ola Pass will provide flat fares on Micro, Mini, and Prime rides. It is worth noting that Share rides and rentals are not a part of the new Ola Pass feature. To recall, Ola very recently introduced something called the Ola Select which offers benefits like -- priority booking, priority support airport lounge access, top drivers and cars, and more.
Reports are also that Uber is also working to introduce a similar feature called the Ride Pass. This will work in a similar manner as the Ola Pass and provide flat fares to rides. However, both Ola and Uber are yet to make the feature live.
