Two straight men marry in Dublin to avoid inheritance tax

Two Irish male friends have got married reportedly to avoid paying inheritance tax.
Michael O'Sullivan (58) tied the knot with his 85-year-old best friend Matt Murphy after having finalized that O'Sullivan should get Murphy's house in Dublin when he passes away.
The duo, who has been friends for last 30 years and decided to marry recently, claimed that the plan came all of a sudden but they went ahead seeking financial benefits.
O'Sullivan, who had no house, recently moved into Murphy's house to become his full-time care-taker as he needed someone to take care of him at this old age.
"I was homeless, sleeping in my car and Matt needed someone to move into his home and take care of him. He was losing his sight and needed a full-time carer," O'Sullivan told The Independent, a British news website.
"He told me that he couldn't afford to pay me but said that I could live with him and he would give me his house when he passed away as payment," added O'Sullivan, who is a father of three.
The pair also credited the LGBTQ community for their fight for equality that made the same-sex marriage possible.
"You know what? The LGBTQ community fought really hard for equality, fought against discrimination and in 2015 same-sex marriage was legalised and it was a wonderful moment, a great victory," said O'Sullivan.
"But they didn't just win the right to marriage for same-sex marriages. They opened the door for everyone. It's equality for all," he added.

Agencies other than the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) will soon be able to evaluate higher education institutions as the University Grants Commission (UGC) has passed a new regulation permitting their entry. The new rules, which were approved by the Commission in a meeting held this month, enables UGC to grant licences to third-party agencies for accreditation of educational institutes. Bangladesh: Govt takes up Ashrayan-3 project to shelter Rohingya refugees

In addition to the temporarily shelter of Rohingya refugees, the cost of construction of necessary infrastructure for the island will be BDT 2,312 crores. The project will be implemented by the Bangladesh Navy under the Prime Minister's Office of the government's priority list. Bangladesh government has taken a project called 'Ashrayan-3' for temporary housing of one lakh Rohingya people. This project will be implemented in Bhasanchar of Hatiya upazila in Noakhali district. Although Bangladesh has more than 1 million Rohingya refugees in which, more than 6,25,000 Rohingyas have fled violence in Myanmar to seek refuge in Cox's Bazar of Bangladesh, since August 25. In addition to the temporarily shelter of Rohingya refugees, the cost of construction of necessary infrastructure for the island will be BDT 2,312 crores.
