Airtel revises Rs 149 plan to offer 1GB data, unlimited voice calls daily to counter Jio
Airtel is leaving no stone unturned to counter Jio. After updating its Rs 199, Rs 448 and Rs 509 prepaid plans, the telecom operator now revises its popular Rs 149 plan to direct counter Jio’s Rs 149 plan. After the revision, under the Rs 149 plan, Airtel now offers 1GB of 3G/4G data along with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMSes every single day. The validity remains the same as earlier – 28 days.
It is noteworthy that this is the second time that Airtel has revised its Rs 149 plan. Before the new revision, the Airtel offered 1GB of 3G/4G data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMSes for 28 days. Taking a leap from that, after the revision, Airtel – under its Rs 149 plan is now offering the same service every day. This means, Airtel users taking up the Rs 149 plan will get 1GB of 3G/4G data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMSes every day for 28 days.
In total, Airtel is offering 28GB of data for 28 days. By revising this plan, the telecom operator is looking forward to counter Jio’s Rs 149 plan – which is available for the Prime members only. Jio, under the Rs 149 plan, also offers 1GB 4G data per day, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMSes per day for a period of 28 days. Additionally, Jio also offers free access to all its app like JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic, MyJio app and the rest.

The revision of the Airtel Rs 149 plan was first spotted by TelecomTalk. The revised plan is reportedly already listed on the My Airtel app – but then, it is available only for select circles including -- Delhi, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Meanwhile, the Jio Rs 149 plan is available for all Prime users. So, if you wish to take up the Airtel plan, it is recommended to first check whether its available to you or not.
