Apple previews iOS 11.3 which brings updates to ARKit, new Animojis and more

Apple brings new updates to ARKit and range of other features like -- new Animojis, battery enhancements, and also introduces new health records feature with the new iOS 11.3 update. The Cupertino major on Wednesday introduces iOS 11.3 software update and brings along exciting updates to iPhone and iPad users. The major highlight of the update is to introduce new ways to experience augmented reality on iPhone and iPad.
"The introduction of ARKit with iOS 11 put augmented reality into the hands of hundreds of millions of iPhone and iPad users, making iOS the world's biggest AR platform," notes Apple. The iOS 11.3 update brings new features to ARKit. The software update now let the ARKit recognise and place virtual objects on vertical surfaces like walls and doors, not only that, the iPhone and iPad users can more accurately map irregularly shaped surfaces like circular tables now.
iOS 11.3 update will also let ARKit integrate real world images into AR experiences, and all this is done using advanced computer vision techniques. For instance, the ARKit can now bring bringing a movie poster to life. With the new software update, "the view of the real world through the camera now has 50 percent greater resolution and supports auto-focus for an even sharper perspective," notes Apple.

Alongside the updates on ARKit, Apple also introduces four new Animoji, giving iPhone X users the ability to express themselves as a lion, bear, dragon or skull. Additionally, Apple is also giving way to the customers to directly with businesses right within Messages by introducing the new Business Chat. "This feature will launch in Beta with the public availability of iOS 11.3 this spring, with the support of select businesses including Discover, Hilton, Lowe's and Wells Fargo," notes Apple. With the Business Chat, the users will be able to conduct easy communication with a certain service representative, also schedule an appointment or make purchases using Apple Pay. Interestingly, Apple assures that the Business Chat doesn't share user information with the businesses and the users can stop chatting whenever they want, at any time.
Meanwhile, the iOS 11.3 update also adds new features to the battery set up. iPhone and iPad users will now get updates about the battery health, not only that, Apple will also recommend if a battery needs to be serviced. This feature is available for iPhone 6 and later models and can be found in battery section in the Settings menu.
Apple also introduces Health Records feature together hospitals, clinics and the existing Health app this will make it easy for the patients to see all their medical data at a single place, and whenever they choose. "Patients from participating medical institutions will have information from various institutions organized into one view and receive regular notifications for their lab results, medications, conditions and more," explains Apple. The Health Records data will be encrypted and protected with a passcode.
The iOS 11.3 update also bring updates to Apple Music and will soon let users stream all music videos they want without any interruption by ads.
