Grumpy Cat snatches lump of cash in California court

Reportedly, owner Tabatha Bundesen of Morristown, Arizona, won the lawsuit in which the furry frown queen won more than $700,000 this week. It was first filed three years ago against the Grenade beverage company.

It still won’t make her smile, but Grumpy Cat has won some scratch.
A California jury gave the furry frown queen more than $700,000 this week in a federal lawsuit over the use of her identity.
According to documents obtained by The Washington Post, owner Tabatha Bundesen of Morristown, Arizona, won the lawsuit first filed three years ago against the Grenade beverage company.
She signed on for the cat to endorse a “Grumpy Cat Grumpuccino,” but the company subsequently used the cat’s image to help sell other products, which an eight-person jury on Monday found was unauthorized.
Grumpy Cat, whose dwarfism and underbite give her the permanent frown she’s famous for, became an online phenomenon-turned-merchandising-machine after Bundesen first posted pictures of her in 2012.

Agencies other than the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) will soon be able to evaluate higher education institutions as the University Grants Commission (UGC) has passed a new regulation permitting their entry. The new rules, which were approved by the Commission in a meeting held this month, enables UGC to grant licences to third-party agencies for accreditation of educational institutes. Bangladesh: Govt takes up Ashrayan-3 project to shelter Rohingya refugees

In addition to the temporarily shelter of Rohingya refugees, the cost of construction of necessary infrastructure for the island will be BDT 2,312 crores. The project will be implemented by the Bangladesh Navy under the Prime Minister's Office of the government's priority list. Bangladesh government has taken a project called 'Ashrayan-3' for temporary housing of one lakh Rohingya people. This project will be implemented in Bhasanchar of Hatiya upazila in Noakhali district. Although Bangladesh has more than 1 million Rohingya refugees in which, more than 6,25,000 Rohingyas have fled violence in Myanmar to seek refuge in Cox's Bazar of Bangladesh, since August 25.
