Meerut: Woman, son shot dead outside their house, murder caught on CCTV
An elderly woman and her son were gunned down by armed miscreants in broad daylight on Wednesday in Meerut.
While the son was shot dead in the fields, her mother was shot on the premises of her house and the entire incident was recorded on the CCTV.
According to sources, the killers had publicly announced before committing the crime that they would kill them soon.
The incident took place on the Partapur rural outskirts of Sorkha village in Meerut district on Wednesday afternoon, when the accused cornered Balvinder and gunned him down.
After killing him, the accused, who were three in number, reached his house and found his mother Nichattar Kaur sitting outside on a cot.
All the three started firing at her and the CCTV footage shows that they fired almost 10 rounds at her to ensure that she was dead. Another woman, who was sitting with her, was spared as the killers directed her to leave the place.
Shocked by the incident, the villagers rushed inside their houses and avoided talking to the police.
According to the police, a family dispute is the reason behind the killings and two of the killers have been identified.
“Nichattar’s husband Narendra was killed in October 2016 and she, along with his son Balvinder, were eyewitnesses to the crime. Maale, Mangu and few others were the prime accused and Mangu is still behind the bars,” ASP (Brahmpuri) Akhilesh Bhadauriya told mediapersons
